Our Story

Our founder, Zach Zabel, was inspired to create Tech For Vets from his work in veteran nonprofits in the Fox Valley area of Wisconsin. As a veteran, gamer, and philanthropist, Zach created Tech For Vets as the culmination of value he can bring to assist his fellow veteran. Tech For Vets was founded on two core purposes, community gaming & tech education. Zach believes that these two purposes will be at the center of the veteran community in the future as the veteran population changes from tech-phobic to tech-centric.

Tech For Vets is dedicated to enriching the lives of military veterans through education and recreation with a central focus on technology and gaming. We offer a community for veterans who have an interest in technology for work and/or play. We offer fully funded Education Plans for qualifying veterans through our community partnerships. We also organize gaming events to offer a space for veterans to have fun and network together! The traditional veteran service organization model is obsolete. We are the next chapter in the proud tradition of veterans helping each other.

Our Board

The members of our board of directors are thought leaders who have made a significant contribution to our non profit. Each and every one of them brings a unique set of skills and expertise to our organization.

Community Gaming

Some veterans find it difficult to comfortably share their experiences. We have found that through gaming, veterans find a space where it is easier to connect. We offer events and regular availability for those that want to game with other veterans, either in person or remotely. Sharing is always optional, fellowship is encouraged.

Fully Funded Tech Education

We offer fully funded, tech relevant education that increases the employability of the veteran. Whether they are unemployed, underemployed, or career transitioning, tech education may serve as the catalyst to a life change.
